2024 Massachusetts Crimson Harvest
Join us to learn what it takes to grow the Commonwealth's No. 1 food crop!
Our guided tours include education on the year-round process of growing cranberries as well as the 200-year history of the cranberry industry, which began in Massachusetts. You will see one or more of the various stages of wet cranberry harvest and you may interact with a farmer. You will NOT be getting into a flooded bog.
- All ages welcome. The discussion is offered at an adult level but our guides are happy to help further explain any questions younger attendees may have.
- This is a harvest viewing tour only, not an in-the-bog-experience.
- Once you arrive you will register and board a school bus to travel to that day's harvest location
- The tour length is approximately 90 minutes depending on the distance to the bog being harvested from the boarding location.
- Bathrooms are available at the starting location, but not at the bogs.
- Pets/dogs are not allowed.
All tours begin at 20 West Street, Carver, MA 02330
(Entrance is a dirt driveway adjacent to 14 West Street for GPS purposes, look for the sandwich board sign indicating where to turn)
Tours begin promptly at 10:00 am

- If they are harvesting at the 20 West Street farm on the day of your tour, we may stay there for the duration, otherwise you will travel by school bus to another harvest location.
- Farming is dependent on the weather and harvest schedules change by the hour. Every attempt will be made to show at least one aspect of the wet cranberry harvest process, but it is impossible to guarantee what phase that will be. This tour does not involve physically entering a flooded bog.
